Lisbon, 21 May 2019: Wind Mobility, the scooter sharing company, has chosen Lisbon as the first city to trial a new pricing plan aimed at commuters. The discount means commuters that take a scooter in the morning will skip the one euro unlocking fee in the evening and be able to hire any Wind Mobility scooter in the city for just 15 cent per minute.
The new price plan aims to improve city congestion and air quality, by encouraging those who currently drive to work to try out a different mode of transport. Wind Mobility wants to raise the awareness of more environmentally friendly transportation modes such as scooters, to help improve city congestion and the efficiency of travel around Lisbon.
The discount will apply for rentals Monday to Friday between 8am – 10am and between 6pm – 8pm.
“This is an important step forward to become a mobility solution for the inhabitants of Lisbon. We are constantly working hard to find new mobility solutions for Lisbon, and hope this new discounted rental rate will improve the journey for many local commuters” said Jose Bonito, City Manager for Lisbon.
Matt Turzo, COO, Wind Mobility commented: “This is a fantastic step forward for Wind Mobility and demonstrates our commitment to improving city transportation and air quality. We hope that commuters will trial out our scooters, and see how fun, efficient and fun they can be which in turn will reduce the amount of traffic on the roads.”
Based on commuter feedback, Wind Mobility will look to introduce the discount to other European cities.
