Bordeaux, 26th August 2020: Wind, one of Europe’s leading micromobility companies, is introducing its e-scooter with an integrated wireless phone charger which is being rolled out across Bordeaux and soon in other European markets. Following on our recent integrated helmet launch, this is another innovative feature added to our Wind e-scooter in order to enhance the user experience and allow users to charge their mobile phones on the go.
The unique design which is built into the front panel of the scooter is aimed to combat a common problem users face while they are riding e-scooters. After conducting focus groups and customer surveys, 36% of respondents had experienced loss of battery life of their smartphones during a ride, which left them unable to lock their scooter upon reaching their final destination.
The wireless charger is compatible with all phone models which support Qi wireless charging and has a power output of 5W and a wireless distance of up to 6mm, meaning devices will be charged at top speed whilst riders get to work, the gym or to meet their friends. The combination of the aluminium alloy bracket and built-in soft silicone keeps the device secure even when riding over rough surfaces. In addition, we have designed the charger so it’s placed at a 15 degree angle, meaning users can easily navigate their way through the city when using the map function on their smartphone.
Eric Wang, founder & CEO of Wind Mobility: “Our custom-built Wind e-scooter is already leading the industry when it comes to safety and reliability. This is another great example of our customer-centric innovation strategy, where often small additions can go a long way to improving the user experience.”
